Our society has a major epidemic that started with a dirty little secret; we are big and getting bigger. While some of the reason is based on evolution and genetics, the main reason is the lack of exercise done on a daily basis.

It has become much more normal to be lazy and eat unhealthy than to be active and watch what you eat. This may be a difficult task for adults who want to come home from work and relax, but it is not nearly as difficult to guarantee healthy and active children.

Exercise is one of the last things parents think about when putting together programs for children with autism. Since communication and socialization are two of the biggest challenges for kids with autism, parents, teachers and therapists typically overlook the physical health of young children with autism. As adults, we think of exercise as getting on a treadmill and lifting weights, but for children, exercise consists of playing and being physically active.

In this special report, we will examine the importance of exercise in your child’s daily life, how you can use motivators to get your child more physical activity, we will provide some tips for getting your child more exercise plus we will provide some worksheets you can use to plan and to track your child’s exercising habits.

This report is in Adobe PDF format. You will need a PDF reader (such as Adobe’s free Acrobat software) to view it. You are encouraged to print it out.

Before you start any assessment you need to know what it is you are looking to gain from the assessment. Why put yourself or your child through an assessment if you aren’t even sure what result you are looking for? If you are getting an assessment in order to see if your child has autism or not, here are a few things for you to consider:

The diagnosis of autism could affect your child’s insurance so be very careful to research this before having your child assessed.

Insurance companies are denying services for children diagnosed with autism and you don’t want to join the group. Be sure that this diagnosis will not affect your child’s insurance coverage before going in for any assessments.
